St. John the Baptist Catholic Church was conceived and built by our Croatian ancestors who emigrated in the late 1880s to Kansas City, Kansas. By the turn of the century, this growing population sought a place to celebrate faith in their native language. By September 1900, plans for the church were in place.
This year, the church will mark its 125-year anniversary! Volunteers from the church are working on a new color history book that will tell the story of St. John the Baptist.
The following links are taken from the church’s 75th Anniversary Book, published in 1975. We will continue adding articles from that book.
